First up, we induct London based model and digital content creator, Sarah Lysander. Making waves for herself in the fashion industry, Sarah began as a model and has become one of the most prominent fashion influencers that have come out from London. Collaborating with the likes of luxury fashion houses such as Dior and Prada, Sarah’s signature approach of creating high fashion editorial social content sets her apart from the rest of the crowd. If you’re not seeing her at Paris fashion week or jetting off somewhere sunny, she’s back in London creating somewhere. We were lucky to get hold of her and get in conversation…
Where are you right now and how are you feeling in this current moment of time?
I just got back from a lovely long weekend in the countryside where we spent Easter weekend with my fiancés family. I’m currently writing from bed in London as I’m in a massive food coma from enjoying endless amounts of Bash’s mums home cooked Middle Eastern food. I feel so full of love, joy and food!
You’re always flying in and out the country but what places feel most at home to you?
Nowhere feels as much as home as London does! After endless amounts of travelling I know for certain London is where I belong! When you visit places so often (such as Paris, Milan) there’s nowhere that gives me that village feel which London delivers, the parks, the coffee shops, no other city beats it!
What’s been a memorable moment for you this summer?
In summer 2022 is when my fiancé and I decided to leave all of our agencies and work together on building our social media platforms which was the best decision we could have ever made. I remember so clearly sitting on the sofa with him and us deciding “yes, let’s do this!” Since then, everything has gone to plan, if anything.. Better than expected.
Seeing the rise of Sarah, amongst many others in the game I feel like I’ve seen your work ethic and your humbleness which has definitely differentiated you from the rest to me. But I’d love to know, how do you stay grounded?
Love this, thank you for the kind words! I’d definitely say due to my up bringing I understand how it feels to not have everything handed to you on a silver plate. My family play a big part on my outlook on life, I know the type of person I want to be because of them. I’m so happy in my relationship with Bash to the point I’m at complete peace with life which makes me feel grateful, being grateful keeps me grounded.
What has been a special moment for you during your career that you’d like to share?
There have been so many amazing opportunities and jobs however one that sticks out to me was shooting my first magazine cover with Dior & Hello Fashion.
Being here, there and everywhere, how have you kept your creativity alive when shooting content whilst having such a busy schedule?
That’s the beauty of travelling, being in so many different places you constantly discover new places and meet new people you can collaborate with. I also found that I had become so use to London, that my content started to feel samey, but being away from home gives you a new kick of motivation that when you do come home, you look at everything with new eyes.
As we know, the industry is heavily on showing face for events and being visible at all times, have you ever found this part difficult?
For sure! It’s important to have balance, I try to attend as many events as long as I’m not feeling tiered or stressed!
What is the best time to arrive to an after-party?
I’m incredibly punctual, so on time? (I’m so un-cool) hahaha.
What is one beauty product you would like to induct to our “IT Girl Picks”? & Why?
I swear by Cetaphil Gentle Foaming Cleanser I have been using it for years now, and I love it.
The one thing we’ve been waiting for, what is your skincare routine?
My skincare routine for now is Cetaphil Gentle Foaming Wash, Dior Hydra Life Fresh Sorbet Crème, Augustinus Bader Face Oil. Also, nothing beats drinking lots of water for good skin.
What’s next for Sarah Lysander?
A wedding!!
